73. Detail Description of Facial Lift

THIS SECTION CONTAINS THE INFORMATION ABOUT ACUPUNCTURE AND MICROCURRENT NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT.

What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a holistic approach to health and beauty that focuses on both the internal and external self. It will bring you some of the results as follows:

  1. Improvement of muscle tone, dermal contraction, and collagen production. Your skin becomes more delicate and fair.
  2. Elimination and reduction of bags under the eyes, puffiness, fine lines of the face, and reduce large wrinkles.
  3. Minimization of double chins and reduction of sagginess.

What is the advantage of an acupuncture facelift over a surgical one?

Acupuncture is not a replacement for a surgical facelift or botox injection, and will not provide an overnight solution; the improvement is subtle and occurs over time. Still, acupuncture face-lifts can be an excellent holistic alternative to traditional surgical face-lifts. With acupuncture, the underlying causes of aging are treated rather than masking the symptoms with a surgical face-lift and allowing further decay and dysfunction to continue within the body.

Treatment with herbs and acupuncture is not only substantially less expensive than a traditional surgical face-lift but far safer. The treatment is risk-free from potentially dangerous side effects such as numbness, scarring, swelling, discoloration, and even disfigurement.

What are some of the advantages of acupuncture over botox?

Botox is a neurotoxin and among one of the deadliest known to man. Although it is diluted to control its potency, with frequent use, it is possible for systemic toxicity resulting from an accidental injection. However, when used safely and supervised by a physician, Botox may be an effective treatment for wrinkles. But notwithstanding, acupuncture is safer and less expensive when compared to botox treatments.

What is the contraindication for acupuncture face-lifts?

Individuals with low platelet counts, bleeding disorders, leukemia, and some blood disorders are not recommended for these treatments. The acupuncture needles may cause minimal bleeding and those with blood disorders are advised not to undergo acupuncture face-lifts.

When was facial rejuvenation acupuncture studied in China?

The Chinese approach to beauty has always been identified as that beauty comes from inside of the body. As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), acupuncturists employed rejuvenation practices for the Empress and other court subjects. The Chinese realized that by using the body’s inner qi (internal energy), and manipulating its channels, it may be used to initiate healing processes and improve facial appearance.

What are the expected results and benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

The goals of Regenerative Acupuncture are improvement of lymph and fluid flow, metabolism, reduction of swelling, and addition of tone and elasticity to facial skin and muscles. Depending on numerous factors including age, health, lifestyle, and extent of skin damage, results may be seen after 2-3 treatments. A feeling of change often occurs before one notices visual change. However, visible lasting results may be seen after 6-7 treatments.

What are the differences between surgery and cosmetic acupuncture?

First, there is none of the risks or discomforts involved in the surgery. For example there is no facial swelling and hide-in-bedroom healing periods. Even though there is occasional light black and blue on the face, but it will disappear after two to three days.

Second, results from cosmetic acupuncture are incremental, which gives you time to mentally and physically adjust to the changes happening in your body. The skin does not get tight and papery. Results are gradual and incremental and are not identifiable as a dramatic face lift.

Third, the change is not solely external. Acupuncture heals the body from within so in addition to a healthy and glowing exterior, the person will feel more relaxed and stress-free. Many of our patients report that their friends ask, What have you been doing to yourself? You look great! And the answer to that is usually, “I feel great”.

How do you perform Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture? Is it painful?

Sterilized and disposable hair-thin needles are inserted into the meridians of the face and distinct extremity points such as and hands and legs. The needles may or may not be connected to an electrical stimulation machine. The selection of acupuncture points and electrical stimulation depends on your composition, body type, color of tongue and characteristic of your pulse. The acupuncture needles are very thin. The point is smoothing (not hollow with cutting edges like hypodermic needles). Most patients feel minimal pain as the needles are inserted, some feel no pain at all.

Who would benefit from Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Anyone who is looking for a way to alleviate or even get rid of symptoms of aging.

What is the treatment course?

The course of treatment usually consists of 10 to 12 visits for those ages 40 and below, 20 to 22 visits for those ages 40 and above. It is recommended 2 visits per week. Depends on individual, some patients may need more visits to get better results.

How long it will last?

It usually last from 2 to 3 years. Sometimes you may need maintenance treatment after your finishing program.

Do you use other machine to help face lift?

Yes, we use micro current microlift machine.

How dose micro current work?

Uses a tiny micro current, which helps to tone, lift and re-educate the muscles back to their original position. The face has over thirty
muscles that lie directly below, and are connected to, the skin’s
surface. When muscles are stimulated they either shorten and lengthen.

Proper firmness is re-established through the non-surgical procedure by correcting the sagging muscle, which in turn corrects the sag of the skin. The treatment also stimulates blood circulation, which helps improve muscle tone and counteract dryness.

Micro-current also works on improving the skin tissue, acne scarring, blemishes, dehydrated skin, and problematic oily skin. It also softens lines and wrinkles and works to generally improve the skinÆs texture and tone.

It is virtually sub-sensory, due to the low frequency, client feels very little if anything at all.

Treatments are generally run as a course of treatments, averaging
between 10-12 sessions.

Some patients will need more and some patients will require less; this will depend on the patient’s skin tissue and their muscle tone.
Maintenance treatment, which on average is once a month or between 4 to 6 weeks.

Micro current was designed to retard the signs of ageing, to keep the skin youthful and glowing, and to keep the muscles toned.

Micro current will stimulate the circulation of energy to the facial
tissues and muscles. This increases the rate that the skin produces
proteins such as collagen and elastin and muscle tissue can be
re-constructed. It therefore deals with both the skin and the supporting muscle tissue beneath. It restores form and vitality to facial muscles that have gone soft due to lack of use and lack of circulation.

The treatments improve lymphatic drainage of the face resulting in
improvements in complexion and reduction of eye bags.

What else does “MICRO CURRENT” do?

Increases Adenosine Tri Phosphate levels (A.T.P.) By up to 500%.

This is a chemical reaction in the body, which provides muscle and body energy, giving a feeling well being. Increases fibroblastic activity By up to 60%. Fibroblast cells are responsible for producing collagen in the skin. As we age, the collagen levels decrease, showing more signs of aging. By increasing fibroblastic activity, we can soften lines, hydrate the skin, and leave a wonderful glow. Increases protein synthesis By up to 73%

Muscles are largely made up of protein by increasing protein synthesis, the muscle becomes more elastic and rejuvenated. Elastin is also another form of protein and again the production of it is increased, leaving the skin’s appearance refined and improved with softened lines and wrinkles.

Increase membrane transport ( cell permeability) By up to 30-40%

When the body ages, cells become less permeable so various functions in the body slow down. In simple terms, this will then help to absorb more nutrients, water, and oxygenated blood, in order to excrete more toxins, fluid retention, and re-oxygenate.

It is Virtually sub sensory. Due to the low frequency used, the client
feels very little if anything at all.

It has beneficial healing effects. It helps to heal scars & blemishes
and to give a wonderful glow to the skin.

It can be used around the eye area. With many treatments, it is not
possible to work close to the eye area. The big advantage of microcurrent ( low frequency) is that we are able to work intensively around
the eyes.

Question: What is Microcurrent?

A: Microcurrent is an electro-stimulator that sends a microcurrent through the skin and muscle via two handheld probes. This produces a firming and lifting effect. It also reduces puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.

Question: Why isn’t my skin like it used to be?

A: As we get older our blood circulation slows down resulting in a lack of nutrients and stimulation to the muscle. The muscle begins to weaken and gravity will encourage it to drop.

Question: How can Microcurrent help?

A: Microcurrent will speed up the circulation and not only feed and
stimulate the muscle but shorten it, back to its original tone.

Microcurrent is also very effective for toning breast buttock, thighs,
arms, and stomachs

This technique has been used in the medical profession for over 20
years, it is painless and totally safe In fact it is good for you.

Q: How long do the electrotherapy sessions last?

A: About an hour and Dr. Hong Su will be able to tell you how many sessions are required to get you back into shape. Because only a
microcurrent is used the treatment is painless and totally safe.

Q: Are there any other benefits?

A: Our lymphatic drainage stimulates circulation in the lower layers of connective tissue providing increased nourishment to the epidermis.

Detoxifies by activating the lymphatic system, ridding the tissue of toxic
waste so reducing puffiness and fluid retention. Microcurrents will leave a clearer, fresher, smoother texture on the skin.

Q: How long will the result last?

A: After a complete course a maintenance treatment every 4-6 weeks is recommended to retain the results.
